Yale Conexis smart lock fitted on new-build apartment — Birmingham City Centre B2
The problem
Buy-to-let landlord wanted a smart lock on a city-centre apartment ahead of short-let rentals via Airbnb. Needed an app-managed lock that also kept a physical key override so cleaners and guests couldn't get locked out by a flat battery.
What we did
Specified a Yale Conexis L2 with the physical-key override cylinder in TS007 3-star spec. Surveyed the existing door, confirmed backset and handle clearance, fitted and paired the lock to the landlord's phone, added 3 sub-keys for cleaners.
Outcome
Fitted in 80 minutes. Landlord trained on adding and revoking time-limited guest codes. Total £295 including the lock. Landlord has since asked for the same fit-out on two further B1 flats.
