Snapped key extracted from uPVC front door in Erdington B23
The problem
Customer's aluminium-brass key snapped flush inside a worn 10-year-old Euro cylinder on a uPVC front door. Homeowner tried to remove the blade with superglue — unsuccessful — before calling us at 7:40pm.
What we did
Attended within 30 minutes. Extracted the snapped blade using a key-extraction tool without damaging the cylinder. Cylinder showed internal wear and sticky pin action so we recommended a TS007 3-star anti-snap replacement instead of patching a failing unit.
Outcome
Replaced with a TS007 3-star anti-snap cylinder, cut two fresh keys, tested multi-point lock across five full cycles. Customer secure again within 45 minutes of arrival. Fixed-price quote given up front — £145 including parts and labour.
